Nvidia forecast bullish ahead of quarterly report

Nvidia stock closed 1.09% higher yesterday ahead of second quarter report today after the market close. Analysts forecast Nvidia's revenue would rise 53% from a year ago to about $46 billion, according to FactSet research survey. They predict Nvidia will earn $1.01 per share, excluding certain items unrelated to its ongoing business, which would be a 49% increase from the same time last year. While the AI leader is expected to continue the trend of spectacular growth, Nvidia's revenue growth for its latest quarter is estimated to be significantly lower than the 122% increase it posted during the same period last year. Analysts are concerned about the business loss from president Trump's trade war with China. The ban on Nvidia’s AI chip sales in China resulted in a $4.5 billion blow to Nvidia’s finances during its fiscal first quarter. Nvidia estimates that the restrictions would cost it about approximately $8 billion in the second quarter as mentioned on the company’s first-quarter call. President Trump then allowed Nvidia the sales of chips to China in return for a 15% cut of the company's sales in that country. Beijing responded by ordering scrutiny of US - made chips, warning local AI developers against using foreign chips for critical processes. China had earlier in August asked major AI developers including Tencent and Bytedance to justify their purchases of the chips. And last week Nvidia asked some of its suppliers, including Amkor Technology Inc and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, to halt production of components for its H20 chips, sales of which were reapproved by Washington. A bigger than expected Nvidia revenue loss from China chip sales is a downside risk for Nvidia stock price. However the current setup is bullish for Nvidia stock.

AUDUSD bias bearish as Government speeds up housing approvals

Australia’s government has unveiled a set of measures to accelerate home construction amid a deepening housing crisis. The government wants to fast-track assessments for over 26,000 new homes and freeze further changes to construction laws to ramp up approvals. Artificial intelligence will be used to streamline implementation. The government also aims to unlock over AUD 8 billion in housing investment by easing restrictions on pension fund participation. The reforms are designed to ease supply constraints that worsened in post-COVID period as development pipelines halted and construction costs surged. Increasing housing construction as housing approvals are accelerated is bullish for Australian dollar and AUDUSD currency pair. However the current setup is bearish for the pair.

ETF approval processes typically introduce financial volatility while analysts cite these delays as routine rather than terminal. Investors maintain confidence in long-term shifts toward non-BTC/ETH asset legitimacy if proposals proceed successfully. Key players such as Bitwise , CoinShares, and Grayscale have pending applications for these spot ETFs. Anticipated LTC sport ETF approval by SEC is bullish for LTCUSD price. However, the current setup is bearish for the altcoin price.

Walmart stock forecast bearish after Q2 earnings miss

Walmart stock fell 4.5% yesterday as earnings missed Wall Street estimates. The stock sold off despite 4.8% rise in Q2 sales to $177.4 billion which beat the consensus revenue estimate of $175.5 billion. Overall gross margins were about flat at 24.5% versus 24.4% last quarter, missing consensus estimates of 24.9%. On a constant-currency basis, revenues grew 5.6%, reflecting strong performance across all business segments. Walmart stock sold off despite reporting better results than rival Target. Walmart's comparable sales growth at stores open at least one year was 4.6% in Q2, up from 4.2% one year ago. Transactions rose 1.5%, down from 3.6% last year, while average ticket, or the amount spent per transaction, rose 3.1%, up from 0.6%. For comparison, Target reported a 1.9% comparable sales decline and an online sales growth of only 4.3% in the quarter. The retail and wholesale giant indicated the average ticket growth was partly due to inflation and passing along higher costs associated with tariffs, which increased Walmart's import costs, and the company would increase prices this summer as announced earlier to offset tariff-related costs. Walmart said it continued to see cost increases each week as inventory was replenished at post-tariff price levels and those costs will continue rising in the second half of the year. However, the company reported tariff impact wasn't as big as expected so far as Walmart has raised prices maybe 1% since the end of the first quarter. The company’s operating income decreased 8.2% year over year to $7.3 billion. The company cited tariffs as the primary challenge, as well as discrete legal and restructuring costs. Adjusted operating income is up 0.4% in current currency terms. Still, management raised its full-year guidance: sales guidance was increased to 3.75% to 4.75% growth from 3% to 4% prior forecast while operating income growth guidance was unchanged - up 3.5% to 5.5%. Higher than expected revenue growth and guidance is bullish for Walmart stock price while earnings miss is a downside risk.

GOOGLE price bias bearish after Alphabet revised Google Play terms

The stock of Alphabet, Google’s parent company, fell 1.14% on Wednesday after reports the company is updating its External Offers Program for the European Union with revised fees and more options for Android developers. Alphabet has made updates to its external offers program to offer more flexibility for developers as part of its continued compliance with the EU Digital Markets Act, or DMA. In March, the EU competition watchdog found Google failed to comply with the region's DMA for two services. The Commission alleged that parent Alphabet treats Google Shopping, Hotels, Flights, etc., "more favorably" in search results versus services offered by third parties and gives "more prominent treatment" to its own offerings. Furthermore, the EC said the company's app store Google Play prevents developers from steering customers to offers and distribution channels of their choice and unjustly charges them for customer acquisition. Revised Google Play terms are designed to make it easier for app developers to steer customers to platforms other than Google after the European Commission found that the company allegedly breached EU's rules. Developers must meet eligibility requirements, and complete their enrollment in this program before promoting external offers. Revision of search results terms that will restrict the favorable treatment of services offered by Google versus services offered by third parties is bearish for Google stock price.

GBPUSD forecast bearish despite hot July UK inflation data

UK’s consumer inflation rose more than expected: the Office for National Statistics reported consumer inflation rose to 3.8% over year in July. Analysts expected the rate of consumer price increases in July over the same period a year ago would rise again to 3.7% - the highest in 18 months. Prices rose at an estimated 3.6% annual rate in June, the highest annual inflation rate for nearly a year and a half. The consumer price index rose unexpectedly 0.2% in June to well above the Bank of England target rate of 2%. Fuel prices were a big driver behind the increased rate in June, while food prices rose at their steepest pace since February 2024. Economists expected grocery prices and travel costs to contribute most to July inflation figures. Accelerating UK consumer prices inflation is bullish for Pound and GBPUSD currency pair. However, the current setup is bearish for the currency pair.

GB100 price bullish amid mixed UK reports

Recent UK economic reports for Q2 2025 were mixed: the economy slowed less than forecast while wage growth eased. The Office for National Statistics reported that British economy grew 1.2% over year in Q2, easing slightly from 1.3% in Q1 but beating forecasts of 1%, according to preliminary estimates. Increases in consumption, government spending and external trade were more than offset by decreases in investment. While household spending rose 1.1% from 0.9%, government expenditure increased 1.7% from 1.5%, exports rebounded 3% vs -0.5% increase and import growth slowed to 3.3% from 7.5%, business investment fell to 0.1% from 6.1%. At the same time, private-sector wage growth eased slightly to 4.8% from 4.9% in July and UK payrolls fell just 8,000, the smallest drop since January and far better than forecasts for a 20,000 decline. Bigger than expected UK GDP growth is bullish for British Pound and GBPUSD currency pair.

LTCUSD bias bearish despite rising institutional adoption

Litecoin (LTC) has been retreating after the Canadian digital asset company Luxxfolio Holdings announced a goal to accumulate 1 million LTC by 2026 which would represent about 1.2% of Litecoin’s maximum supply. Luxxfolio Holdings, a developer of blockchain technologies including Litecoin infrastructure, highlights Litecoin’s faster transaction speeds, lower fees, and strong security record as key reasons for its focus. Luxxfolio’s strategy is a deliberate shift away from Bitcoin-focused treasury strategies popularized by companies like MicroStrategy. Luxxfolio plans to acquire Litecoin gradually through open market purchases during favorable conditions and by leveraging self-mined LTC to reduce acquisition costs. The company also intends to maintain transparency by publishing its wallet holdings. USDCNH forecast bearish after softer Chinese industrial production report

China’s industrial output growth was below forecast in July: the National Bureau of Statistics of China reported China’s Industrial Production rose by 5.7% over year in July after the growth of three-month high 4.5% in June when an increase of 5.9% was forecast. Besides the softest increase in industrial production since last November there were also two other soft data points for July: retail sales increased by 3.7% over year in July, down from 4.8% in June, and the fixed investment in January–July period declined from 2.8% year over year rate to 1.6%, much less than market expectations of a 2.7% growth. Slowing Chinese industrial output expansion is bullish for USDCNH currency pair.

XAUUSD bias bullish as US mandates mineral production boost

Under the directive titled “Immediate Measures to Increase American Mineral Production,” the US government has committed to developing a strategic supply of domestic minerals. The government has expanded its list of critical metals to include copper, uranium, potash, and gold, alongside traditional battery metals, and has announced a series of executive actions aimed at significantly increasing domestic mineral production. The executive orders will fast-track permitting for mining projects on federal lands, and project financing could be made available through the Defense Production Act. US government policy shift towards increasing domestic mineral production including gold indicates expectations for persistent long-term demand for the precious metal which is bullish for gold.
